I've been a fan of The Brew Cafe for years. I truly think they know how to do coffee right and the specialty lattes are always fun. However, I've noticed a change lately that feels so much less welcoming. While they have always been owned and managed by religious individuals, The Brew used to feel welcoming for everyone: the religious aspect was never thrown in your face, the staff was relatively diverse, and they had a lot of community events that supported all groups. But lately...the religious vibe has increased exponentially. The staff is always wearing religious iconography, there are bibles/other religious items in many places lying around, and both the staff and clientele have become more homogeneous. As a non-religious individual, I have no problem supporting individuals that are religious, but I do have a problem supporting businesses that seem to be clearly aligning and promoting a religion. As a years-long customer, I've started finding my coffee else-where. I keep trying to give this place a try again because I truly do love their product, but the atmosphere has become too much for me. Cozy industrial style coffee shop just 1 mi off of I69. Drinks were delicious though a bit pricey. They offer baked treats from a local bakery. Our muffin was good, not great. The interior design is a mix of industrial, classic amd steam punk. Overall pretty neat place. I believe they share the entrance with the tattoo studio upstairs.

Had some time to kill in Lansing so I decided to check this place out. I ordered the Honey Badger with coconut milk (honey, hazelnut, cinnamon, and cayenne). It’s delicious and not overly sweet like lattes often are. The only downside is the length of time it took to get my coffee after ordering. It was over a 12 minute wait. I would hesitate to come here if I was in a hurry but if you have time to hang out or need to get work done, it’s a very relaxing, inviting, and well lit environment. Will definitely be coming back.

Great little place! The vibe was awesome, quiet, low key yet fun. The coffee was really good and priced competitive. Parking is easy and it's in a great place on the road (easy to find). Definitely a spot that I could work remote from all day.

I've been a coffee shop owner for 7 years, and the brew does it right! Stop in, pick your favorite, or try something new. You won't be disappointed. It's one of the few shops that makes tonic espresso. The beristas are great in helping you figure out what you want to order. The brew is warm and inviting. Go visit your new favorite coffee shop now!
